Cycling for Our Heroes is an amazing event taking place on Saturday, September 24th to benefit military families and veterans via the Fisher House Foundation. The event starts at 7 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. at the Aberdeen Senior Center, only a few miles away from The Yards at Fieldside.
Cycling for Our Heroes was started by Mike and Dee Layman, two veterans who wanted to give back to the military community after working in the U.S. Army for 20 years. At the event, you can choose between two cycling routes – 11.4 miles or 48.5 miles, each only costing you $25 to bike the course. You can also purchase $25 tickets to attend a lunch for donors, and join many other military families and veterans who donate their time and money towards this great cause. If you’re interested in purely donating to the cause, you can access the Fisher House Foundation donation page through the event website.
