We’re all traveling through food still, and one perfect place to do that close to home is Backfin Blues: Creole de Graw, an eatery serving up a fresh take on Louisiana fare near your Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland apartment.
To start, you have to try the gumbo and add crawfish. For your entree, favorites are the blackened catfish with Creole rice and remoulade or the traditional Creole boil complete with shrimp, crawfish, corn, sausage, and potatoes with the perfect spice blend. If you’re heading over for lunch, you have to order a po’boy, there’s no question. Their signature sandwich features either cajun dusted chicken, fried catfish, or more traditional options like blackened shrimp or hand-breaded fried oysters. There is nothing more quintessentially New Orleans than a good po’boy.
If you prefer breakfast, they also serve up Sunday brunch every week. Be sure to make a reservation before heading over, though. The menu features creole omelets with andouille sausage and fried oysters and eggs for true Cajun/ Creole flair. Bon appetit!
