Next time you’re in the market for a sweet treat or want the perfect bread for your weekend French toast, head to Goll’s Bakery just down the road in Havre de Grace. This local institution has been around since the 1930s. When German-born couple Eugene and Elesa Goll visited Havre de Grace for their honeymoon, they actually decided to stay and open a bakery—true to their heritage as their parents were all bakers. The rest is history! The business still remains in the family with the same tried-and-true beloved recipes that have earned them business for nearly 100 years.
Located just moments from your Aberdeen apartment, the storefront is open Thursday through Sunday so you can pop in and peruse what’s in the case. Or you can also place a custom order for pickup, you just have to give them 24-hour advance notice. Their cases are filled with pies, doughnuts, freshly baked breads and rolls, dozens upon dozens of cookies, sticky buns, and a variety of German and traditional pastries. Try a few things and you’ll be back for more, we’re sure of it!
